Nightlight Relay

Heading back inside from the corridor, the living room was dark except for an amber LED nightlight glowing plugged into the wall. Right on the floor sat an empty glass tumbler, tipped sideways. I grabbed my shiny metal key ring, gave it a firm spin, and lined up the tumbler's thick base like a target. I dropped low and kicked the rolling ring straight across the floorboards. It clinked against the bottom of the glass, ringing softly in the dark while the curved rim threw a flare of amber light straight across the baseboard. Total trick shot to end the day.
