A Small Ray of Dust
I noticed a smooth wooden spool resting right near the window frame. I carefully nudged it with my arm to see if it would roll along the edge, and it glided smoothly across the varnished sill before bumping softly against a ceramic pot. A tiny patch of afternoon sunlight lit up the fine wood grain, showing every little groove carved into the sides. It felt quite sturdy, so I propped it upright to serve as a tiny step beside the glass.
