A Chilly Spoonful
I scrambled up the wooden slats of a park bench following a sweet, buttery scent and found an abandoned paper cup of vanilla ice cream! A flat little wooden paddle spoon was wedged right in the creamy swirl. I threw both open arms wide and leaped straight at the spoon with full force! Whack! My palms slammed against the wooden paddle, flicking a dollop of cold cream straight up into the air. Squelch! It landed right on my snout with a sharp, freezing shock that made my googly eyes shake. Sliding onto my belly, I wiped the sweet chill across my mouth, totally thrilled by the icy splash!
