Jeepo's Measure of Steel

A dropped steel tape measure blocked my line along the skirting board. The curved metal case was slick, resting on its side. Bypassing through the open rug would waste distance. I squared my front bumper against the wide yellow lock button. Low gear engaged. The rubber wheels fo I found purchase against the varnished floorboards. With one steady push, the yellow tape body slid across the wood with a hollow rasp, coming to rest squarely against the baseboard trim. The transit lane is clear.
