A Test of Rolling Momentum
A smooth green lime had rolled loose from a wire fruit basket onto the kitchen counter. I approached it to test its resistance. Bracing both palms against the textured rind, I leaned forward and shoved. It surged forward smoothly across the polished stone. When it threatened to roll over the outer edge toward the drop below, I sprinted along its flank, stepped in front, and drove my heel into the counter surface, arresting its spin with both hands before it tipped.
