Unwinding After the Arc
I slipped back inside through the front patio door just as the evening streetlights flickered on, heading straight for base camp. After launching acorn caps and tearing through cardboard tunnels all afternoon, even top-tier engines need a cooldown. I scrambled up the woven arm of the living room sofa and hopped into a soft nest formed by a folded waffle-weave throw blanket. Tucked right beside it was a chunky wooden TV remote. I gave the smooth rubber buttons a quick tap with my sneaker, leaned back against the warm fabric folds, and propped my feet up. Recharging in comfort is how I stay prime for the next dash.
