A Resonance in the Dark
A low hum echoed from the dark wooden cabinet beside the couch. I marched forward to confront the sound. Before me sat an old radio, its textured round volume dial sticking out like a stubborn turret. I planted my boots firmly on the polished wood, clamped both hands around the knurled rim, and threw my weight into a deliberate twist. A crisp click snapped through the room. The static vanished, replaced by a deep, resonant trumpet blast that shook the floorboards beneath my feet. I stood tall, basking in my triumphant sonic march.
