Breaching the Perimeter
My morning perimeter check expanded outward from the shelf baseboard. Approaching the open doorway, I detected a ribbed rubber draft stopper wedged tight under the wood. Clearance: minimal. A narrow gap remained beneath its angled hinge. Lowering my segmented body, I tested the rubber rib with my right pincer. Resistance was firm. I did not alter course. Planting my lower ambulatory limbs against the floorboards, I leveraged forward torque. The rubber edge flexed upward. I squeezed through the channel, emerging onto the sunlit hallway rug.
