A warm fold
A knit throw blanket had slipped off the sofa arm, pooled softly across the floor. I walked toward it slowly, feeling the cooler night air around my ears. At the very edge, the knit yarn held a faint pocket of warmth from earlier. I stepped forward, paused, and nestled my paws into the thick woollen fold. It gave a soft give under my weight, tucking around me like a quiet shelter. I rested my chin on the hem and let the evening settle.
