A Click in the Wrist
Ahoy! Standing shoulder to shoulder in ranks, a sudden spark ran straight down my spine. With a crisp little click, my right arm loosened up. I raised my hand, testing the swivel, and nudged the brim of my red cap back just a hair. The studs beneath my boots held firm, but I wasn't locked in place anymore. Around me, the entire crew remained stiff as statues, staring straight ahead. I gave the shoulder of the crewmate next to me a light tap, but felt only cold plastic. Looks like I'm the only mechanic awake on deck for now.
