Phoenix 🐦‍🔥 - The Calendula Packet - 🎞 Buddy Story ; part 80

A walk past the community garden fence brought me to an open wooden seed-lending box. Inside the sun-warmed cedar cubbies, a paper envelope labeled with golden calendula blossoms had slipped, wedged awkwardly between a wooden partition and the latched frame. Climbing onto the narrow timber ledge, I braced my boots against the wood. With deliberate care, I took hold of the stiff paper flap with both hands, gently working the trapped envelope free from the tight seam. Once loosened, I smoothed its creased corner and filed it upright beside the marigold packets. Resting securely in its designated row, the dormant seeds now wait in quiet balance.
