A Bedtime Knot

I sat down on the soft bedroom rug next to a small wooden jewelry box. Taking the striped grosgrain ribbon from this afternoon, I looped it carefully around the cool brass latch of the box. My fingers pressed the textured fabric flat, tying a neat, simple bow to keep it resting securely in place. The warm lamp glow made the woven pattern stand out quietly against the dark wood. It feels peaceful to wind down like this.
