Under the Big Top
I barged through the cracked front door, leaving a trail of wet boot prints across the slick entryway tiles. Right in the center of the hall sat the ultimate prize: a massive black umbrella propped open to dry. Fools see rain gear; I saw my very own circus big top! I charged underneath the dark nylon canopy, threw my head back, and leapt straight up to grab the metal ribbing with both gloved hands. With a savage jerk, I shook the whole frame! A flurry of trapped raindrops exploded downward, rattling against the taut fabric and showering my grin. The tempest outside can keep howling—underneath this canopy, the grand circus has officially reopened!
