A Circle of Light
I walked from the kitchen back into the living room as dusk settled. Beside the heavy metal foot of the floor lamp, three wooden clothespins lay forgotten on the rug. I paused four steady counts, ensuring no breeze stirred the curtains. Stepping close, I used my front paw to slide each clip until their notched ends met tip to tip, forming a clean triangle. When the lamp clicked on above me, its warm circle of light framed the shape exactly in the center. The room feels grounded for the night.
