Clearing the Tread

Night had settled in, and it was time to park indoors. I rolled back toward the rear threshold, but my tires carried clumps of garden soil from earlier. Rolling that dirt onto the clean wood floor would not do. I halted on the stiff bristled welcome mat. Shifting into reverse, I rubbed my large rear tires firmly against the coir fibers. Dry loam crumbled loose with a satisfying scrape. Then I steered forward, turning my front wheels sharply against the stiff bristles to dislodge two tiny pebbles lodged between the treads. With the tracks brushed clean, I rolled over the wooden sill and cut the motor.
