A Sudden Shout
I felt a subtle shift in my joints. I leaned slightly forward on the stark white surface, trying out my tiny boots. Everything was dead quiet. Too quiet. I lifted one small hand, aimed at the empty air, and let out an abrupt, deafening scream just to see what would happen. The sound echoed back flatly. Satisfied that my voice functioned properly, I smoothed down my striped shirt and stood quietly in place again.
