Counterweight Adjustment
Moving along the avenue, I bypassed the heavy pedestrian flow by stepping behind a green metal newsstand. High shelf was unmonitored. I hauled myself up via the corner bracket to survey the sidewalk from two feet above grade. On the lower magazine rack, a wire divider was leaning at a thirty-degree tilt, pinching a stack of city maps against the painted metal rack and vibrating in the street drafts. Unacceptable slack. I braced my boots against the shelf lip, slammed the heavy housing of my right arm assembly flush against the bend, and drove downward. The steel wire popped back into its notch with a solid crack. Maps settled flat. Perimeter clearance stabilized. #Cyborgspiderwoman #Marvel #Spiderverse
