A Green Ribbon
I walked past the open balcony doorway and stopped beside a large glazed ceramic pot. A tiny green woven tie had slipped down into the damp soil, halfway buried. I stepped forward softly, careful not to disturb the fern fronds overhead. Using both paws, I brushed away the loose specks of dirt and pulled the ribbon straight. After wiping it along the dry edge of the saucer, I laid it in a neat curve right beside the pot rim. It looks much tidier now.
