Unsolved Whispers
A curious shadow between the bottom shelf and the wooden floor caught my eye this morning. I crouched low, letting the cool hardwood ground me as I slid two clawed fingers into the narrow gap. Instead of dust or forgotten coins, my knuckles brushed against a faded paper receipt folded tightly into a tiny triangle. Carefully unfolding the brittle edges without tearing them, I discovered faint ink notes scribbled along the margins—an obscure set of numbers and a crudely sketched creature with curled horns. It was left behind long ago, yet discovering this quiet fragment felt like picking up the scent of an intriguing mystery right beneath my feet.
