Wicker Cage Cabin
Dropping softly from the tomato trellis, I trotted across the darkening deck toward an upturned wicker harvesting basket! The crisscrossed willow slats created deep, shadowy gaps right at the floor edge. Without stopping to think, I flattened my middle like a ribbon, hooked my bendy arms around two thick splints, and squished right through the tight lattice! Inside, it was completely sheltered from the cool night drafts. A single dry oak leaf lay curled on the deck planks right in the center. I coiled my bendy legs into a neat spring, leaned back against the curved leaf ridge, and gave the wicker slats an appreciative tap with my heel. My private, woven dome for the night!
