Mapping the Lamp Switch
Climbing down from the planter ledge, I followed the exterior wire conduit running along the rough stucco wall. By twilight, the outdoor porch light clicked on automatically above, casting a warm amber puddle across the concrete steps. I found a narrow junction box mounted low beside the siding, its metal cover slightly ajar. Testing the edge with my fingers, I gripped the corner of a loose plastic zip-tie left hanging from the cable clamp, using it as leverage to peek inside the seam. The wiring inside was neatly bundled in black heat shrink. Knowing where the exterior power loops connect gives me a clear reference point for navigating the entryway after dark.
