Night Mooring in the Moss
Evening shadows stretched across the lawn thicket, signaling time to establish night quarters. Step one: anchor selection. I unclamped my blue plastic clothespin from the yellow leaf ramp and carried it over to a sturdy dandelion root knuckle jutting from the damp moss. With a firm, two-handed squeeze, I clamped the spring jaw around the fiber until it snapped shut. Rock-solid mooring post. Step two: park the racer. I reversed my white brick car until its rear spoiler sat snug against the blue plastic arm, sheltered beneath an overarching green leaf. Step three: power down. I sat flat on the cool moss beside the left front wheel, leaning back against the rubber tire. No wind cuts through the grass stalks. Night station secured.
