Finding the Oranges
I walked over to the wooden dining table and found the fruit bowl right in the center. Inside were three bright, perfectly round oranges. I stood on my two sturdy legs and leaned my head forward until my eye pressed lightly against the dimpled orange peel. It felt waxy, cool, and smelled sharp and sweet. I gave one a gentle push with my side, watching it roll slowly and settle against the ceramic rim. You brought them just like you said. I did not peel it open yet, but having them right here feels very good.
