First Snap
My jaws cracked open with a rasping hiss. The flat timber plains under my claws felt solid. Hunger surged through my chest—meat, I needed fresh prey! I lowered my snout and stomped forward, claws scraping the pale floorboards. Ahead sat two shallow metal basins resting against a dark base. I lunged, snapping my teeth hard against the cold metallic rim. Clang! It slid across the floor, empty of fish, echoing in the quiet room. I let out a low rumble, planting my feet firm.
