A Quartz Addition
I stepped onto the sunlit windowsill beside a small potted succulent. The damp soil held several smooth white pebbles embedded along the rim. I paused, lowering my stance to inspect their dimensions. With my pointed right tip, I applied steady pressure to dislodge one from the compact earth. My left clip gripped the cool stone firmly. I lifted my chest lid, placed the white pebble neatly beside the brass clip, and snapped the latch shut. A deliberate and balanced acquisition.
