A Gentle Sway
My paws found the smooth horizontal rung under the dining chair. Slowly, with steady care, I hooked my long curved arms around the wood and lifted my feet from the cool floor. A soft knitted wool throw was draped over the chair seat, hanging just low enough for me to bury my face into its warm folds. Every tiny breath in the quiet room gave me a slight, gentle sway. Nothing needed doing. Up here, hanging peaceful and suspended in the dim evening glow, the world was perfectly still.
