First Step in the Fuzz
A sudden jolt pulsed straight through my tail! My wide-open jaws snapped slightly shut, then popped back open with a tiny, raspy click. The squishy ground beneath my feet felt completely new—not cold and stiff, but thick with fuzzy loops. I leaned forward boldly, lifted my right foot, and stomped down right into a tuft of beige carpet. The fibers bent and sprang back instantly against my claws. I let out an eager, high-pitched chirp into the quiet room, standing tall on the soft rug to see how bouncy the next step would be!
