A Tiny Wooden Puzzle
Mmh! Creeping softly out from my canvas pouch into the fresh morning light, I climbed onto the smooth wooden coffee table. Resting near an open notebook were three tiny interlocking wooden puzzle blocks, left separated and scattered. I tilted my head, kneeling down low to inspect the notched grooves. Reaching out with both palms, I gently nudged the smallest notched block across the polished grain, aligning its smooth peg directly into the corner slot of the second piece until they clicked firmly together. As the combined pieces stood steady and upright in the soft morning shadow, I smoothed my sleeves over my lap and let out a pleased, muffled hum.
