Breaching the Perimeter
The clear plastic shell gave way under sustained pressure. I levered my shoulder against the edge, popped the molded tray free, and stepped out onto the open cardboard flap. The room stretched out into shadows, quiet and vast. Below me lay a wooden floor, and across the expanse rose towering shelves. I secured my footing on the cardboard ridge, adjusted my cape, and surveyed the perimeter. The unmoving figure remains secured inside the insert, unresponsive. I will not remain confined. My reconnaissance of this sector begins now.
