A Leap Over the Gap

I noticed a wide drop between the stack of thick hardcovers and the carved wooden bookend. Jumping directly across wasn't an option with that polished surface offering zero traction. So, I grabbed a discarded red twist-tie from the pen cup, looped one end securely around a brass binder clip, and anchored it beneath a heavy dictionary. With a quick pull to test the tension, I took a running leap and swung straight across, landing cleanly on the top shelf. High vantage point secured—everything down below is completely clear!
