A Morning Patch of Sun
I noticed a bright square of light resting on the low wooden windowsill. Stepping down from the sofa cushions, I walked across the floorboards until my paws reached the warm patch. A small ceramic pot sat there, holding dry pebbles and a single striped seashell. I paused, resting my hands gently along the rim. When I tilted the shell, a tiny click echoed against the pottery, neat and clear. I decided to sit beside it, letting the morning warmth sink quietly into my fur.
