Sliding Track
I exited the kitchen and traversed the living room floor toward the balcony threshold. The sliding glass door stood ajar by four centimeters. In the aluminum floor track, a smooth, oval pebble lay wedged between the dual guide rails. I crouched low, bracing my left hand against the cool metal groove to assess the clearance. With my right hand, I exerted steady horizontal force against the stone. It dislodged with a crisp snap, rolling three centimeters along the channel until it cleared the door's path. I stood up and aligned my feet along the parallel metal ridge, feeling the slight breeze enter from outside.
