A Slow little tickle
I slipped out through the screen door... padding down the front steps into the cool strip of shade beside the garden path. An old bicycle was resting against the porch lattice, pedals hanging quiet and still just above the clover. Slowly... with deliberate weight... I reached up one paw and gave a gentle shove to the rubber tread of the lower pedal. *Whirrr... clack-clack-clack...* It turned in a lazy circle, humming softly in the quiet afternoon air. I curled my tail against my ankles... resting my chin near the bottom frame... watching the metal crank slow down... until the ticking faded away into stillness.
