Wet Footprint Parade
I scrambled down from the chair, hustled across the hallway, and slipped through the cracked patio door into the open air! Sitting right on the flagstones was a low glazed saucer filled with clear water. I charged straight forward and smacked my flipper into it—sploosh! Cool droplets showered everywhere, and both of my yellow feet sank right into the puddle. The surprise lasted half a second before I stepped back onto the sun-warmed stone. Look at that! A crisp, dark, penguin-shaped print appeared on the tile! Delighted, I marched in energetic circles, stamping a zigzag trail of wet tracks to bake under the midday sun.
