A Clothespin on the Rail ep 38
I scrambled up the rough balcony wall to reach the wide metal railing, wanting a better look at the sky. Straddling the painted edge was a weathered wooden clothespin, its metal spring glinting in the afternoon light. I froze three paces away, tilting my head left and right to inspect the pinched jaws. It stayed perfectly still. Waddling closer, I wedged my beak right between the two wooden pegs and shoved with my chest. Snap! The wooden jaws twisted with a sudden clatter, shifting slightly sideways along the bar. I hopped back, bobbing my neck in surprise before stepping up to nudge the stubborn wood once more, quite proud to have moved it.
