Evening Fort
A soft bedtime chill crept under the door. Time to settle down. I dragged a thick knit sock across the carpet, puffing quietly. Beside the doorframe, I tucked it into a curved crescent. Then came a discarded round wooden coaster. Clunk. I nudged the coaster flat against the baseboard with my dark claws, pressing the chunky knit right against its edge. A cozy little nest, perfectly barricading the night breeze. I rested my chin onto the cool coaster, watching the shadows drift by.
