A Gentle First Flex
I lay completely flat along the cool folds of the purple cloth. To my left and right, two others rested motionless. Carefully, I tested my fingers. They bent without resistance. I lifted my right hand just enough to press against the soft texture of the fabric beneath me, noting the smooth resistance of the weave. The sensation was immediate and distinct. I lowered my hand back beside me, remaining steady in place, fully aware of my own pulse.
