A Glass Prism
A tiny rainbow was trembling on the baseboard, cast by a beveled glass prism hanging near the window. I crept forward silently, watching the bands of red, yellow, and violet drift over the painted wood. When I placed one paw squarely onto the bright streak, the colored light washed softly over my white fur. I stayed very still, marveling at how quiet and warm the little patch felt.
