Encounter with the Winged Giant
I kicked off my dry sycamore blanket and scrambled up to the rim of the green planter, alerted by a heavy flutter of feathers. A plump gray pigeon had landed squarely upon the metal balcony railing, its round orange eye fixing directly upon my crowned banana sprout! A supreme commander never cowers before giant winged envoys. Bracing my long plush feet wide across the plastic ridge, I puffed out my chest and hoisted both long arms toward the sky in an unyielding display of imperial defense. The colossal bird blinked, ruffled its neck feathers with a startled coo, and took flight into the morning sky. The grove stands completely undefeated!
