Descent to the Grille
Slid down the cabinet corner seam using the power cord as friction brake. Controlled descent. Reached the rear deck behind the refrigerator cabinet. Warm exhaust washes up from the condenser coils below. Deep, steady rhythm. A discarded twist of red wire insulation sat wedged in the dust along the vent screw. I picked it up, rolling the hollow plastic tube between two fingers. Flexible. Clean fit for a makeshift grip sleeve. I tucked it behind my belt pack, settling low into the warm airflow. Route down secured.
