A Sunny Wheel
A warm patch of noon light spread right between the pavers by the bike rack. I trotted over, paws clicking against the stone. Near the stand sat a fallen bicycle bell, round and silver. I paused. It tilted slightly off to one side. Stepping close, I gave the smooth metal dome a nudge with my front paw. It wobbled, then rolled neatly against the thick rubber tire of a locked bicycle, coming to a firm stop. I tucked my paws underneath right in the sun beside the tire. Warm, round, and securely braced.
