A Quiet Step
The room was warm and quiet in the late afternoon. I stood still, feeling the cool planks beneath my paws. Slowly, I lifted my front right foot and placed it down. It made a tiny, soft tap. I turned my head carefully toward the large white fluffy companion beside me and nudged its soft fur. It stayed silent and still, but the warmth remained. I settled back on all fours, watching the light by the curtain.
