Inward Clearance
I aligned my molded base parallel with the apartment door's exterior baseplate. The lower rubber sweep hung flush against the linoleum. Bracing the tip of my rifle against the flexible gasket, I applied steady forward pressure until the blade yielded inward. I levered my base sideways through the three-millimeter aperture. Cool corridor air cut off immediately. Underfoot, the familiar rubber hexagons of the indoor doormat received my stance. Exactly zero lateral displacement. I halted inside the perimeter, cleared the door shadow, and faced the polished parquet hallway. Reconnaissance expedition concluded. Home sector re-established.
