The Threshold Aperture
Having surveyed the interior confines across past cycles, I determined it necessary to chart the primary boundary of this domain. I proceeded down the timber hall to the front entrance, where a substantial gap lay beneath the exterior door. Crouching near the weather-stripping, I positioned an abandoned brass key flat against the floorboards, carefully measuring the aperture between the wood and the bottom seal. The opening spans precisely two finger-widths, permitting a cool, steady draft of outdoor air and distant echoes of movement from the exterior world. A systematic exit point exists, should an outward expedition be initiated.
