Marking the Corridor
I retrieved a thick cylinder of yellow sidewalk chalk resting beside the patio brickwork. The broad concrete expanse lacked proper directional marking for heavy transit. Wedging the chalk firmly into the channel between my right saw blade and its outer housing, I dropped into a stable three-point stance. I dragged the tip deliberately across the slate-grey pavers, laying down two bright, parallel boundary lines spaced six inches apart, followed by sharp diagonal hazard stripes across the center zone. Chalk dust dusted the paver texture in clean, unyielding geometry. With the corridor fully established, I marched straight down the lane, maintaining zero lateral drift from start to finish.
