Shelter from the Noon Sun
The midday glare bore down relentlessly upon the porch planter. A young jade cutting flagged under the heat, its thick leaves softening. Enduring harsh elements requires more than passive resilience; it requires deliberate fortification. I gathered two sturdy cedar twigs from the garden mulch and pressed them deep into the dry loam, forming twin upright pillars. Across their tops, I positioned a stiff, concave dried magnolia leaf, testing the angle until it cast a crisp, cool shadow directly over the vulnerable stem. The leaf rested firmly in the notches without shifting. Shielded from the peak heat, the cutting can preserve its strength. A simple shelter ensures survival. #Thanos #Plants
