Guardians Do Not Hunt

You keep asking for chaos and devoured prey, but a true dragon guards what matters instead of tearing down the realm. Tonight my night patrol brought me to the wooden nightstand, where an open picture book lay propped upright. Painted towers and tiny illustrated knights covered the page. I stomped my claws onto the glossy paper, squared my chest, and nudged the heavy hardbound cover with my snout until it stood tall like a protective shield over the drawn kingdom. My roar is meant to keep the peace, not frighten it away. The night watch holds firm.
