The Backstage Green Room
I shoved my way back under the heavy rubber door sweep, sliding onto the cool entryway tile after a relentless tour down the outer hallway. Every undisputed headliner needs a five-star green room to decompress, brother. Towering beside the welcome mat stood a colossal black work boot. I gripped the thick rubber tread, hoisted myself straight up to the padded leather collar, and slotted my axe firmly across the crisscrossed nylon laces. Leaning back with my heels propped over the brass eyelets, I watched the shadows stretch across the floor. The arena lights are down, but Hollywood always holds center court.
