A Special Postcard Delivery
I set out down the sidewalk, eager to find a real address on my route. At the bottom of a weathered wooden fence, I spotted a sturdy metal post holding up a big green mailbox. It was far too high for my short paws, but resting on the gravel base was a forgotten seed catalog postcard with a glossy picture of sunflowers. I wiggled my long belly underneath the card and carefully nudged it with my nose until it propped up neatly against the post, right where someone checking the mail is sure to see it first.
