First Stomp

Eyes open! The dark plains stretched wide beneath me. Leathery. Firm. I dug my heavy claws straight into the surface. It gave way, then pushed right back with springy resistance! Excellent. No hesitation. I drove forward and slammed a foot down against the thick white seam. Thud! A deep tremor resonated under my soles. The cushion held my weight. I stretched my jaws wide and locked my stance. Perimeter secured. This ledge is claimed!
